I woke up recently to the realization that I was having a little anniversary of my own. It has been eight years since I bought my little clapboard cottage in West Nashville. I stayed much longer than I thought. Sometimes we do that. We have dreams of grandeur where we plan to buy a little house and move up to a larger home in a better neighborhood as soon as we build up enough equity--but then we find that the little house we could barely afford eight years ago has become a haven of sorts, we love our neighbors, and after investing all that heart and all that time, we can't bear to leave it all behind. Maybe it would take making a heckuva' lot more money at work to get us to part with our little haven -or better yet, winning the lottery (I had an old boyfriend who did that), or finding a great partner with whom to share a larger estate (a girl can dream, can't she?).
Let's take a little detour this time and talk about dreams and new beginnings, and what we do to mark those passages in our lives. This month, DISH is celebrating its one-year anniversary. An anniversary of the realization of someone's dream.an anniversary that marks a lot of blood, sweat and tears by a lot of folks who have a collective goal in mind.to make this a one-of-a-kind experience for women on the internet.an anniversary marked here in Music City with a musically-inspired, fun-filled party at a trendy nightclub. A nightclub actually renovated recently by the same man I call upon to assist my clients when they need home renovations or "quick fixes" right before their home is bought or sold. And why not? He does great work, always comes through for me in a crunch, and is named after one of the famous actors who played James Bond in the movies. Like "007," he knows what it takes to get the job done...
