On October 3, 1901, the Victor Talking Machine Company was founded. The trademark, "His Master's Voice" with the dog Nipper, was acquired at the same time. This was the beginning of what eventually became RCA Records. So 2001 marks (It's really unbelievable, is it not?) the 100th anniversary of the birth of the well-known label. To celebrate, they're releasing a series of new compilations called the RCA 100 series.

If you've ever been to a great Broadway musical, whether on the great white way or courtesy of a touring company in your hometown, you are familiar with the powerful songs, and thrilling voices of Broadway theatre's legendary stars.
"Broadway Divas" features original recordings of Broadway's biggest female stars singing the songs they made famous (or visa versa) such as Angela Lansbury's "Everything's Coming Up Roses" from Gypsy, Bebe Neuwirth's "All That Jazz" from Chicago, and Liza Minelli's "Sing Happy" from Flora, The Red Menace, to name a few. "Great Musicals" is a 14 track compilation of favorite and familiar show tunes sung by the original stars of Broadway biggest hits, including Zero Mostel and Company singing "Tradition" from Fiddler on the Roof, Tony award winning Alan Cumming performing "If You Could See Her" from Cabaret, and the outstanding Colm Wilkinson's emotional performance as Jean Valjean of "Bring Him Home" was a showstopper in Les Miserables.
