Photography by Raeanne Rubenstein | | | Here at Dishmag, all our favorite young things have been showing up in their Mom's most outrageous gear from the Sixties and Seventies. Since they look pretty cool, some of the rest of us have been digging around in the back of our own closets for our own vintage stuff. And if we can still fit into it, we've been wearing it, and looking good if I say so myself! Artifacts from the 60s, 70s and 80s are "mix and match" around here. Prints, plaid, tye-dye, broad collars, bell bottoms, Spandex, Indian cotton, somehow AGELESS AND TIMELESS! We're all looking a little like 90's Georgio Armani around here, crossed with a little Janis Joplin here, a little Cindy Lauper there and we're loving it! Take it from me, It's great fun! Why not give it a try? In honor of the Millennium, the Fashion Institute Exhibit entitled "Rock Style" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan (see preceding story), Christmas, Y2K, and just for fun, Dishmag is proud to present its own Photographic History of Rock and Roll fashion. Put your favorite CD on the player and jingle-bell rock! We hope you enjoy it! | |
