DISH loves tabletop . . . the new gem-like colored glasses, the elegance of the perfect coffee server, the functionality of the stylish oven-to-table collection. These are just some of the highlights of the 2007 collections launched by the legendary Arc International.
A world leader in tabletop, Arc International was founded in 1825 as a traditional glassmaking workshop in Arques, France. It has given birth to some of the best-loved tabletop brands in the world, including Mikasa and Luminarc.
So it was with great excitement that DISH visited Arc International’s showroom in Manhattan recently for a sneak preview of the exciting fall offerings. Here’s what to look for this fall that will enhance your dining experience, with money left over to buy the food!
Brown . . . the New Black
Mikasa’s Cocoa Blossom Collection makes a fashion statement, with its rich cocoa brown and exotic floral motif on a white background. Made of fine porcelain, a five-piece place setting (including a dinner plate, salad plate, a rim soup bowl, teacup and saucer) sells for a suggested retail price of $59.99.
Complimentary accessories, such as a 64 oz. coffee server and an oversized cappuccino cup (yes!) can be mixed and matched with this striking, feminine collection. A perfect gift for the bride with flair – or for you.
White Goes Rustic in New Oven-to-Tabletop Dishes
If you want to spend more time with your guests and less in the kitchen, you’ll love the convenience – not to mention the vintage styling - of Mikasa’s four new oven-to-table dishes produced in partnership with famed Food Network celebrity chef Tyler Florence.
Called the Tyler Florence Chef’s White Collection in Rustic White, the oversized stoneware line includes an 18-inch Baroque Roaster, great for that presentation turkey, two Baroque bakers, and set of four ramekins, all reminiscent of elegant country dining. Think 18th century French country manor. (Well, we can dream, can’t we?).
Colors Shimmer in Holiday Stemware
Luminarc, known for its high-quality, affordable glassware, has introduced 30 new collections this season. We loved its Holiday Stems in luminescent colors of green and gold, called “Emerald Glamour” and “Golden Luster.” These well-priced goblets, flutes and wine glasses, ranging from $3.99 to $19.99 for sets, will definitely spark up your holiday dinner party.
Colored amber glass is heavily sandblasted to reveal a “Tapestry” pattern in Mikasa’s Cheers Artistry Collection of unique martini glasses, wine glasses and double old-fashioned glasses. There are four fanciful designs to choose from, with a suggested retail price of $83.50 for a set for four—all dishwasher safe. Bring on the martinis!
